Faculty Symposium: Undergraduate Computing and ITE Education in Maryland:

10:00-10:30 – Welcome & Introductory Remarks
10:30-11:15 – High School CS Education in Maryland-Update and Impact on Undergraduate Programs
                       Presentation and Discussion led by Dr. Jandelyn Plane, UMCP, coPI on CS Matters in Maryland project
11:15-11:30 – Break
11:30-12:30 – Innovative Undergraduate Computing/IT Education Projects
                      Panelists: Dr. Penny Rheingans and Dr. Carolyn Seaman- UMBC COMP101 project
                      additional panelists TBD     
12:30- 1:15 – The Employment Picture for Computing Majors (Panel & Lunch)
                      Panel including Career Center Directors and a HR Manager
1:15- 2:30 –  Challenges and Next Steps Activity
                     Attendees discuss and report their thoughts about challenges strategies for attracting and retaining more majors.
Evaluations and travel stipend paperwork  for non UMBC attendees.
